 Let's Taco Bout It

Welcome to We Taco Bout It!  This is a forum we have created to start a larger conversation. About what? Well, tacos for starters.  But ultimately, we want this to become a place where we can communicate our ideas and stir important conversations, all the while sharing our observations of some of the best breakfast taco shops on the Westside of San Antonio and beyond.

Who are we?  We're just two relatively-smart guys who like tacos.  Looking at us, you can tell we hardly ever pass up on a chance to enjoy a tasty taco delight.  Moreover, we are both originally from the Rio Grande Valley, so we are bringing the culinary experience of our youth and applying it to our adopted hometown of San Antonio.  Let's see how these tacos measure up to those of our youth!


Originally, we started this a way to challenge the findings of the SA Current on the best breakfast taco shops on the Westside.  We decided to visit those locales and decide for ourselves.

We later came up with the idea for this blog when one of us called the other on a Saturday morning, after a spirited night of revelry with old college friends, and on a morning where we were still hurting a bit.   When we asked "Wanna Taco Bout It?"  we both knew it was time to hit up another spot and this conversation flowed like chorizo grease off a tortilla.

We believe the breakfast taco is the ultimate conversation setting for us, more so than drinks or coffee or anything else, and it lends itself to any situation.

Had a bad day at work? We taco bout it.

Had a weird dream you don't understand?  We taco bout it.

It's going to be a long day?  We taco bout it.

You want to celebrate some good news?  We taco bout it.

The politician said what?  We taco bout it.

You got some bad news?  We taco bout it.

The Spurs won! We taco bout it!

The Cowboys lost! We taco bout (while weeping silently).

She broke your heart?  Again? We taco bout it (while rejoicing, slightly, because the waitress is way cuter than that b-  sorry, got carried away there.)

Hangover after heartbreak?  We taco bout it.

And every once in a while, we just get hungry, so we taco bout it.

We are going to taco bout a lot of things.  Agree? Disagree? Taco bout it with us.

Send us suggestions for new places to try.  We'll add them to the list.  We'll keep this experiment going as long as our stomachs and pocketbooks allow.

Like the tortilla on a comal, our site's look and feel will evolve with time.  Patience will be rewarded.  

This is going to be fun for us.  We have things to say and now we think we want to say them out loud.  Join us for a taco.  We'll provide the conversational salsa.
